Transfer of the Keys!

On January 27, 2012, Lemkin House became a reality.  We closed on our building at 817 Livingston NE in Grand Rapids Michigan.

With magical synchronicity, January 27 is also the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance.  So I made sure to tuck a rosemary sprig in my pocket.

Our vision for Lemkin House is that it become, not another social service agency, but a community of asylum seekers, successful asylees, students, religious congregations,  lawyers and social workers.  Not ‘us’ serving ‘them’, but all of us working together.
